Simply Orion is a blog about my favourite past time, which is travelling and a little bit of my other activities and environmental interest. Travelling is one of the best way I know to get to experience the local people and places.

My name is Orion Chan and an Oil and Gas Engineer by profession. I had some great opportunities while I was studying in university to backpack arounds Europe for 4 years. Currently, I am based in Kuala Lumpur in my home country of Malaysia. Fortunately for me, my job allows further opportunities to satisfy my travelling needs locally and internationally. Nevertheless this does not stop me from organising my own travel whenever I have the chance.

Thanks to the miracle of Air Asia with its tagline of "No frills flight", travelling out of Kuala Lumpur has never been more affordable and convenient. My travels are mostly around Asia which has enough interesting places (UNESCO heritage sites) and cultures to keep me busy for a long time.
