Quickie: Ghost Festival (鬼节)

Suppose to join my friends for a camping trip towards the end of the month but I'll have to pass this time around. The reason is that the Ghost festival will be coming soon!

Every year when the Ghost Festival arrives, I'll have to miss something.

Last year I had to postpone my Siem Reap trip.

鬼节一到我就不可以到处玩! 原因是我的父母担心我的安全.
因为这样, 我宁愿不去 lor....真是不恨心让他们担心.
My parents will be extremely worried if I venture out this time of the year. I can't be that selfish rite?
Today marks the first day of the 7th month in the chinese calendar in a series of 30 days.

So how much do u really know about the Hungry Ghost Festival?

One thing for sure is that there'll be an overshare of ghost stories during this time.

Coincidentally, I too do have a few stories to share though none of them are first hand experience *phew*

1st story:

Picked this story up from the internet but is suprisingly chilling. Maybe because it just so close to being true.

It revolves around a famous advert in Hong Kong of 6 young children playing the choo-choo train. Its famous because many ppl saw something was amiss in the ad before it was quickly removed. When the directors reviewed the ad, they discovered that supposedly only 6 children should be playing the game but somehow there was an 'extra girl' at the back of the train-line who kept her head ducked around the 27s.

I've attached the clip below so that you can make your own judgement. Try to pay attention around the 20+ seconds till the end. Keep count on the children and take notice of the kids, perhaps you might see something that I don't.

2nd storyNow finally the pace starts to pick up. The next story came from my cousin.

He told me that he once rented an apartment. The rental for this apartment was unbeliveably cheap, but yet he rented it. After staying there for sometime, he noticed the neighbours started looking at him in a funny manner, some were even whispering behind his back. Finally one day he got hold of the guard and asked him for answers.

The guard told him: "Before you moved in, there lived a couple in the apartment. They were very loving, but one night the couple had a big argument, after that night the girl was never seen again. The guy vanished as well after having the apartment renovated." The neighbours noticed that the guy would always scrub the walls late at night, and so they suspected that the gal had been murdered by the guy and was buried inside the wall.

After hearing the story, he was terrified. Upon returning to his room, he searched the place thoroughly, finally he noticed and peculiar wet spot on the wall. It looked more and more like a human shape, and the position the shape was in appeared to be a person trying to struggle out of there. He had a dream in the middle of that night, he dreamt the couple were having a big argument, and in his rage, the guy strangled the gal to death, he later buried the corpse inside the wall.

He saw the gals eyes were bleeding terribly, struggling inside the wall and screaming: "Let me out! Let me out!!!!" He was so terrified that he awoke from his sleep, he couldn't stand it anymore and so he started drilling at the wall with a modified drill. He finally made a small hole in the wall, after which he saw a pair of eyes staring at him....... Oh my god, so it was true afterall...... Suddenly the pair of eyes turned into a mouth and started talking:

>> Hey neighbour, why are you making a hole in my wall!!? =)
